The Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) has announced that Broward Healths Director of Sports Medicine and Wellness, Frank E. Walters, PhD, LAT, ATC, is its newest Athletic Trainer Director-Elect. Walters will begin his term immediately following the July 2009 BOC board meeting.
Walters joined Broward Health in 2006 as director of sports medicine and wellness. He was later appointed the director of Broward General Medical Centers Wellness Center in 2007. Prior to joining Broward Health, he was the coordinator of athletic health care services for the District of Columbia Public Schools from 1991 to 2006. He served as a BOC qualified examiner and model from 1991 to 2001.
